Our Innate Buddha Nature

The latest translation of Mahayana sutras by Rulu are six Tathāgata-garbha sutras. This storehouse or treasury of Buddha=Tathāgata is within every human. The title of this volume is The Tathāgata Store; it is available in print or e-book. Here is a bit from her Introduction:

For readers to receive teachings on the Tathāgata store as originally given,
this book presents the English translations of six sūtras selected from the
Chinese Buddhist Canon. Sūtra 1, the Mahāvaipulya Sūtra of the Tathāgata Store,
gives a basic teaching and describes by nine analogies that one’s Tathāgata store
is shrouded by one’s afflictions. Sūtra 2, the Sūtra of Neither Increase Nor Decrease,
reveals that the Tathāgata store is a Tathāgata’s dharma body, and that the
realm of sentient beings neither increases nor decreases. Sūtra 3, the Sūtra of
Śrīmālā’s Lion’s Roar
, gives teachings on one’s afflictions that shroud one’s
Tathāgata store and inspires all sentient beings to ride the One Vehicle to attain
Buddhahood. Sūtra 4, the Mahāyāna version of the Sūtra of Aṅgulimālika, reveals
that as one’s Tathāgata store transcends all dharmas, all dharmas are one’s
Tathāgata store. Sūtra 5, the Sūtra of the Unsurpassed Reliance, teaches one to rely
on one’s Tathāgata store in order to walk the bodhi path to Buddhahood. Sūtra
6, the Sūtra of the Vajra Samādhi, reveals that one’s inherent awareness, the pure
awareness of one’s true mind, has a mass of benefits.

Sūtras 4 and 5 have never before been translated into English. Sūtra 2 is a
revised version of the English translation initially published in Teachings of the
Buddha
(Rulu 2012a, 97–102).
How grand indeed shines the light of truth upon the face of the man whose heart is enlightened by the sense of his oneness with all; and what pathos there is when the sense of separateness drives him away from his oneness with other men.

An excerpt from Sutra 5, page 203:

Ānanda, know that a Tathāgata’s realm has vast, awesome powers, and is
changeless and gentle. Therefore Ānanda, sentient beings have holy nature
[Buddha nature], which is unaffected by cultivation or no cultivation, action or
no action. It has neither mind nor mental functions, neither karma nor karmic
requital, neither pain nor pleasure. When one enters it, one sees that this
nature is the same [within all], has no different appearances, and stays far away
from afflictions. It follows [sentient beings’ needs], and is vast and free from a
self and its belongings, high or low. It is real, endless, ever abiding, radiant, and
pure.  Ānanda, why is this nature called the holy nature? Because all holy
teachings are founded on it, and all holy beings rely on it to attain Buddhahood.
Hence I say that it is the holy nature.
