An expensive, beautifully produced hardback, in two volumes with slip cover. The biography of Lama Yeshe, founder of FPMT. Here is one short video about the Lama:

Just beginning to study this marvelous biography of Lama Yeshe. Here is a little marvel that impressed the Westerners.
On a long trek in the mountains of Nepal one of the ladies was exhausted. Lama Yeshe had a canteen of cold tea which he offered to her. She said 'no more tea'! Lama asked 'well, what would you like' and the lady said 'Coca-Cola'. Of course there was no Coke in Nepal in the 1969, much less high in the mountains. So Lama poured some of his canteen into a mug for another lady there. Wonder of wonders -- it was carbonated & full of bubbles. The mug was passed around and all laughed and agreed -- it was real Coke!

In addition to the occasional siddhis mentioned, all the tribulations & elations of the Westerners that went to India & Nepal are given. Some became monks or nuns, for a time at least. Another big plus are the Dharma teachings sprinkled throughout the early part of volume one.
May all seek, find and follow the Path of Buddhas.
